FBA shipping operation

release time:2019-11-12

The benefits of sending FBA are very many. It is a good way to promote new products, increase sales, and seize the gold shopping cart, so many Amazon sellers will choose to send FBA. For the novice Xiaobai, when I first started to operate FBA, because of lack of experience, I encountered small problems during operation. Therefore, today’s Xiaobian special screenshot shows how to convert the delivery method of goods into FBA.

Step 1: Go to “Manage Amazon Inventory”

Log in to the seller’s backend and click on Manage FBA Inventory in the INVENTORY tab to enter the inventory management interface.

Step 2: “Convert to ‘FBA’ delivery”

On the inventory management page, sellers can find products to be converted to FBA shipments by searching for SKUs, titles, and ISBNs.

On this page, you can see the goods delivery attributes, with the product status (all, available, not for sale), the delivery type (all, Amazon, seller) as the main screening conditions, of course, there are other screening conditions. When converting to FBA, the “Distribution Type” should select the “All” page.

If the seller only converts FBA to a single listing, just type “√” in the leftmost “port” box of the listing, and click “convert to” in the rightmost “Edit” of the listing. “Change to Fulfilled by Amazon”. The pink part of the icon below.

If multiple listings are to be converted to FBA shipments, type “√” in the “staus”, ie select all, then select “Convert to Amazon Distribution” in the “Apply Selected Items” drop-down menu. (Change to Fulfilled by Amazon), as indicated by the red box above.

Step 3:

After selecting the FBA product to be shipped, you will skip to the following page and click “Convert Only” to confirm the conversion of FBA shipment. (The following content takes a single listing to convert FBA as an example)

Step 4: Seller Information Check

After clicking “Convert Only”, you will be taken to the following page. There are warehousing start items, origins, and packaging types. See the following figure for details:

Here, pay attention to the origin and packaging type.

Origin: The shipping address is automatically generated. If necessary, you can also modify the shipping address and click “Ship from another address”. Required with “*”. As shown below:

Packing type: divided into mixed delivery and original packaging delivery.

Mixed: There are multiple SKU products in one box.

Original package delivery: There is only one SKU in one box.

Regarding the type of packaging, the seller chooses whether it is “mixed delivery” or “original packaging delivery”.

After confirming the origin and packaging type, click “Continue to process the warehousing plan”. After selecting, the original gray interface of the second half will be displayed normally.

Step 5: Product package size

Here “All Items” will display the product information selected for FBA shipment. If the seller still needs to add a SKU, click “Add Item”, if you need to delete, click “X” after each listing to delete. Here, you need to enter the product package size. It should be noted here that it is necessary to provide the manufacturer’s original product package size (inches). For example, the seller sells cups, the cups are packaged, you need to enter the package size (length, width, height) and quantity of the product, and then click “Save”. As shown below:

After clicking Save, click “Continue” below to continue the next step of “Preparing Products”.

Step 6: Prepare the product

In this step, you will also browse the information set by the seller before confirming that there is no problem, click “Continue” to proceed to the next step.

Step 7: Label the item

After the completion of step 6, you will be taken to the “Label for goods” page. This is a more critical step because every product in the FBA warehouse is labeled. Here, choose to set the number of printed labels and select the size to print.

Under normal circumstances, Amazon uses the “A4” format paper to print by default, and sellers can purchase A4 format stickers for printing. Under normal circumstances, the number of labels printed on each A4 paper is 21~44. The seller can select the appropriate specifications to print according to the product package size. When the selection is complete, click on “Print this page label” to print the label. After printing out, attach the labels one by one to the product or product packaging. Then click “Continue” to proceed to the next step.

Below is a screenshot of the label printing for some SKUs. In order for FBA to scan smoothly, the seller needs to attach each label to the product or product packaging. Be careful, don’t post the wrong SKU.

Step 8: Check the shipment

In this section, check the origin of the shipment, the type of packaging, the inclusion of goods, and the preparation fee for the goods. On this page, Amazon will also have a prompt “Your inventory sent to Amazon may be divided into multiple shipments based on the seller SKU, we will assign an operation center for each shipment based on a variety of factors, including the size and classification of the goods, There are many factors such as your address.” That is to say, the products created by the seller may be divided into different FBA warehouses, or all of them may be sent to an FBA warehouse. In short, it is automatically assigned by the Amazon system. If the seller does not want to separate positions, you can set the position in the background in advance. (The closing position requires an additional fee). After confirming that the information is correct, the seller can also see the “destination”, which is the address of the FBA warehouse.

If you have no problem, continue to click “Process Shipment”. After confirming that there is no problem, click “Confirm Shipment”.

Step 9: Prepare the shipment

1. Check the goods in the shipment

On this page, Amazon has a hint: the seller wants to ensure that the SKU and quantity of the physical shipment are exactly the same as those created at the time of creation. That is, the seller must check the SKU variety and quantity to ensure that the wrong product is not selected and sent.

2. Choose transportation service

The mode of transportation is generally filled in by default: “Small parcel delivery”

Carrier: Fill in “DHL EXPRESS (SUA)INC” by default

“Preparing the shipment” and “Selecting the transportation service” are as follows:

3. Set the box information

Here is the number of boxes set. If a large number of shipments are created by the seller, you need to use multiple outer boxes to ship the goods. The number of boxes is filled in the total number of boxes. which is

If you ship multiple boxes together, select “Multiple Boxes”;

If it is a single box shipment, change “multiple boxes” to “all items in one box.”

A little mention of the number of boxes here, the box mentioned here refers to the number of boxes at the time of delivery. If your product is special, you need to pack it in multiple small boxes and then put these small boxes into the big box. The number of boxes here refers to the number of all the big boxes, not the number of small boxes.

How do sellers provide in-box item information? There are three options: use web forms, upload files, skip box information, and charge for manual processing.

Use web form: Fill in the box information in the web form (recommended). as follows:

Upload file: Fill in the packing list and upload it to the seller’s platform.

Skip box information and charge for manual processing: Amazon will manually process your in-box items. It calculates the manual processing fee based on the total number of items in the box * the cost per item.

The two dimensions of the size and weight of the box are optional, that is, the seller does not fill it. If you want to fill it, just enter the weight and size of the box. If there is one box, you need to fill in the weight and size of one box. If the total number of boxes is two, fill in the weight and box size of the two boxes. After completing the fill, there will be a “total” amount of boxes. As shown below:

4. Print the shipment label

Also be reminded here, use the sticker to print the outer box label. Stick to the outer box and each box label is unique and all box labels must be printed.

Below is a PDF screenshot of some FBA outer box labels.

Step 10: Enter the logistics order number

The last step is to enter the order number. All the above steps are completed. After the packing is completed, the goods are delivered to the shipping company and sent to the FBA warehouse. The seller can enter the transport order number in the “List”.

Under normal circumstances, the actual weight of the box should not exceed 30KG, and the longest side of the volume should not exceed 150cm. If you are overweight, you need to put a “overweight label” reminder on the outside of each outer box.
